Creative Challenge with Balloons

Time for me to share a creation from a design challenge!  I love these challenges because it gives me a great way to create and have fun doing it.  I also love to see what others come up with too!

This challenge came from the Global Design Project and this week was a Theme Challenge….balloons!  Who doesn’t love balloons, especially on a card!?   They represent pure fun and celebration to me.  So it was only fitting that a Birthday Card came right to mind.

I used a mixture of Stampin’ Up  tools for this one!  The ‘Wish’ comes from the Broadway Lights dies and is the focal point of the card.  It was die cut from Whisper White paper and 3D-mounted on Calypso Coral paper embossed with the Subtle folder.

The ‘Birthday’ sentiment comes from the Family Party Stamp Set and punched out with the Classic Label punch.

Last but not least, the balloons!  They were punched using the Hot Air Balloon punch, twice om each side, to make them thinner.  I wanted them to look like party balloons vs. hot air balloons and felt that thinner would help achieve this look.  Paper is Old Olive, embossed with the Subtle folder and the Bird Ballad DSP.  White twine was added to create the look of strings on the balloons.
